More and more of us are now consulting podiatrists (formerly known as chiropodists); perhaps we're beginning to realise that the old saying "when your feet are sore, you're sore all over" has more than a ring of truth to it. We've certainly come to appreciate that our mobility, independence and quality of life are valuable assets that should not be taken for granted.

General Foot and nail care
More and more of us are now consulting podiatrists (formerly known as chiropodists); Common treatments include, verruca's, corns and callus', in-growing toe nails, fungal nail treatments, fungal skin treatments, sweaty feet, athletes feet and more
Diabetes
Diabetes is a condition that can have a great effect on your feet. It is important to have regular reviews with your podiatrist. During which they will assess:
- Your ability to detect pressure and vibration
- An assessment of the blood flowing down to your feet and other vascular conditions such as atrial fibrilation
Biomechanics
Biomechanics is the science concerned with the action of forces on the body - pains and discomforts throughout the foot and ankle are best diagnosed and treated via a biomechanical assessment
On completion of the assessment, the findings will be discussed with you and recommendations made for the most appropriate treatment, which may include exercises, restoration of joint mobility, insoles or 'orthoses', or a combination of these.
Osteopath
Osteopathy is a drug-free, non-invasive manual therapy that aims to improve health across all body systems by manipulating and strengthening the musculoskeletal framework.
